This is a post idea I’ve been kicking around for a while, and I have finally decided to put it together. These are the Alpha Commandments – the basic rules that govern alpha behavior. These things should give you a framework to build on and a good understanding of how the different pieces of advice on this site work together. As time goes on, I’ll be adding more and expounding on these. They are not sacred tablets, just sharpened tools to cut through the noise and confusion of life.

Speak your mind boldly. You shouldn’t be afraid of consequence when speaking. In any western country you have the freedom of speech. Don’t be afraid to dissent in family, at work, or play – be yourself and speak how you think and feel honestly and boldly. These aren’t empty maxims; they’re the bedrock of actually being a man who lives what he believes. If you silence yourself out of fear, you’re already halfway toward becoming a beta you’ll hate later.

The world is a fun place to live, and you drew a hell of a lucky straw by being born a man in a western country rather than some kind of waterfowl in western Africa. Enjoy what you have and don’t let anyone or anything tear you down or break your frame – happiness is always your choice. If you can’t laugh at yourself sometimes, you’re just another brittle beta waiting to snap. Lightness of spirit is the secret that keeps alphas sane and unflappable no matter what life throws at them.

Play the game by your own rules. If it is rigged to be against you, stop playing. Do things your way without feeding into a female’s frame or a feminist, emasculated view of the world. Every time you step into someone else’s script, you surrender a piece of your own identity and become a puppet in their narrative. True freedom is deciding which arenas you enter and walking away from the ones that only chew you up and spit you out. The alpha doesn’t beg for a fair fight; he creates his own.
